Celebrate Colonial Lake’s Re-Opening on June 4th
On Saturday, June 4th, The Charleston Parks Conservancy and the City of Charleston will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration for the the newly-renovated Colonial Lake. The event will run from 10:30 am to 2 pm.
Part of the Piccolo Spoleto festival, the Colonial Lake ceremony will include:
- Ribbon cutting ceremony with Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg (at 11 am)
- Music
- John Cusatis
- Activities for children
- Scavenger hunt around the park
- Sidewalk chalk
- Hopscotch
- Food trucks/vendors
- Smoke BBQ
- Short Grain
- Sweet Lulu’s Bakery On Wheels
- Mac Daddy
- King of Pops
- A horticultural tour of the park’s gardens
- A plein air painting demonstration
- Charleston Model Yacht Club racing model sailboats on the lake
