- Meeting at Market, a new sports pub set to open in June of 2016, recently announced the appointment of Matthew Gaetz to the position of general manager.
– - On Wednesday, June 8th, in conjunction with Negroni Week, The Glass Onion will feature Italian cocktails for their monthly charity beverage tasting. The event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. During the tasting, patrons will enjoy the Glass Onion Negroni along with an Aperol Spritz. They will be paired with small bites for $10 per person. Five dollars from every ticket will benefit Grow Food Carolina. Tickets can be purchased here.

- On Tuesday, May 31st at 6:30 pm, a panel of local celebrities will choose the winner of Big Billy’s Burger Joint’s “Build Your Best Burger” Contest. The panel includes County Councilman Elliot Summey, News 2’s Josh Marthers, and a surprise mystery judge, The winner of the contest will get free burgers for an entire year.

On Thursday, June 2nd, the City of Mount Pleasant and Mayor Linda Page will present a street sign on Shem Creek in honor of local restaurant mogul Ronald M. “Ronnie’ Boals, Jr. The sign will be placed at the intersection of Mill Street and Church Street near Shem Creek and Coleman Boulevard. It will be named “Ronnie Boals Boulevard.” A public ceremony will be held at 4 pm. The ceremony will be followed by an after party at R.B.’s.
