Charleston Pride 2016 Starts Today!
This year’s Charleston Pride Festival, a celebration of the city’s LGBT community, starts today and will continue through Saturday, August 13th.
This year’s theme, “Stand Out” and includes the following events:
- Saturday, August 6, 2016
- 3 pm: Roller Derby Bout at ISOL, 3337 Business Circle, North Charleston
- 8 pm: Pouring Tea: Black Gay Men of the South at College of Charleston’s Emmett Robinson Theater
- Sunday, August 7
- 11 am: Drag Brunch at Tabbuli
- 6 pm: Interfaith Service at Circular Congregational Church
- Monday, August 8
- 7:05 pm: Charleston Rainbows Pride Night at Joe Riley Stadium
- Tuesday, August 9
- 6 pm: Gay Bingo at the Memminger Auditorium
- Wednesday, August 10
- 6:15 pm: Alliance For Full Acceptance Guest Speaker, Rev. Betty Deas Clark at the downtown Charleston Marriott
- 8:30 pm: Celebrity Drag Show at Cure Nightclub (formerly Pantheon)
- Thursday, August 11
- 6 pm: Takeover Charleston at the downtown Taco Boy
- 11 pm: The Patti O’Furniture Show at Dudley’s
- Friday, August 12
- 4 pm: Happy Hour with BEAU Magazine at The Shelter Kitchen + Bar
- 8 pm: LGBT LOL: A Night of Comedy at the Charleston Music Hall
- Saturday, August 13
- 9 am: Charleston Pride Parade
- Route goes from Ann Street down King Street to Broad Street, and then to Colonial Lake
- 10 am – 5 pm: Charleston Pride Festival at Brittlebank Park
- 9 pm: Charleston Pride Prism Party at the Music Farm
- 9 am: Charleston Pride Parade
