As you can imagine, Holy City Sinner gets inundated with press releases and information – especially from the food and beverage community. I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible.

  1. Beginning on August 30th, Lewis Barbecue will offer happy hour every Tuesday through Friday from 4 pm – 6 pm. Drink specials include $5 margaritas, $5 aqua frescos, and $3 Modelo & Shiner Bock drafts.

  2. The Old Village Post House Inn announced that they have new fall brunch and dinner menus courtesy of the restaurant’s new Executive Chef Robyn Guisto, formerly of Halls Chophouse. The dinner includes: Crab Crusted Salmon, Sweet Potato Gnocchi with spinach, dried cherries and goat cheese, Lobster Risotto with parmesan in a saffron broth, and new selections of premium USDA wet- and dry-aged steaks and chops.
The brunch menu features Crawfish Bisque, Benne Seed Fried Oysters with hot honey, and Pork Belly Benedict with avocado spread and pepper relish. Click here for more information.

  3. On Sunday, October 2, from 3 pm to 6 pm., Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic (BIFMC) will host their tenth annual Lowcountry Beer & Wine Festival at Freshfields Village. The event raises money for the Johns Island clinic. Tickets go on sale September 1, and will be available for purchase at Indigo Books in Freshfields Village or at the clinic. For more information on BIFMC and the festival, visit www.bifmc.org

  4. Starting today, Cane Rhum Bar and Caribbean Kitchen will honor all veterans and active service members with a complimentary Navy Grog, a traditional beverage made of lime juice, sugar, water and Santeria rum. Additional grogs can be purchased for $10. This deal was made possible by Rational Spirits.

  5. Big Billy’s Burger Joint is asking their Facebook Fans to help choose the winner of the restaurant’s “Milkshake Wars” competition. Beginning on Monday, August 29th, Facebook Fans can cast their vote for their favorite milkshake. For more information visit Big Billy‘s Facebook page.
  6. Virginia’s on King announced that Shane Whiddon has been hired as Executive Chef. He has more than 17 years of cooking experience in the South.
