Far Out! Palmetto Goodwill to Host Hippie Dash 5K in October

Palmetto Goodwill will host it’s first-ever Hippie Dash on Saturday, October 8th in North Charleston. The event begins at 8 am and will include 3.1 mile course around Park Circle.

Adults, children, and dogs are all invited to don their best 1970’s attire and take part in the run. The 5K fun run and walk will celebrate National Disabilities Employment Awareness Month. Proceeds will benefit Special Olympics South Carolina in the Lowcountry and help send Goodwill’s Self-Advocacy Group to Washington D.C. to meet with Congress about issues that people with disabilities face on a daily basis including transportation, housing, and employment.

Registration is now open to individuals and teams. Registration is $20 per person and includes event participation and a t-shirt. You can register at http://www.palmettogoodwill.org/hippiedash.

Prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed Dude, Dudette, Flower Child, and Pooch. An after party will be held at DIG in the Park, where participants can enjoy food and drink specials.
