Leftovers: Tidbits from the Food & Bev Community (9/20/16)

As you can imagine, Holy City Sinner gets inundated with press releases and information – especially from the food and beverage community. I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible.

  1. The Glass Onion will offer a Fried Catfish Gumbo special served with collard greens for just $14 per person at dinner from September 7-17. Reservations are now accepted  – and highly recommended – by calling 843-225-1717. http://www.ilovetheglassonion.com/ 

  2. Update – This event is now sold out: The Lot and The Charleston Pour House will host another edition of “Dinner on the Deck” on Monday, 9/26. Executive Chef Andy Mcleod will create a 4-course Northern Italian-inspired menu with wine pairings from the region will accompany the menu, as well as an optional cocktail hour.   3. image002On Wednesday, September 21st, The Old Village Post House Inn hosts its South African Wine Maker Dinner on featuring a six course meal from Executive Chef Robyn Guisto paired with wines from Fairview Wines and Spice Route Winery. You can see the menu to the right.
  4.  Last Thursday, Mex 1 Coastal Cantina opened their doors on Sullivan’s Island. The restaurant is located in the recently closed SALT at Station 22 building. They will be open everyday starting at 11 am.

  5. On Wednesday, September 21st, Butcher & Bee will host a Greek Wine Dinner from 7 pm to 10 pm. Guests will taste six wines new to the Charleston market and learn about their history with B&B Wine Director Joe Robitaille and proprietor of Dionysi Grevenitis Selections, Dionysi Grevenitis.
    The evening will also include a family-style menu of mezze, entrees, and dessert, prepared by chefs Chelsey Conrad, William Mote, and pastry chef Cynthia Wong.
    Tickets are $65 per person (including tax and gratuity) and can be purchased here .
