John Eric Battles (also known as Johnny or Eric), a twenty-something tattooed Alabama boy and self-taught chocolatier, started Sweet Teeth Confections in 2008 after experimenting with chocolate while working at EVO Pizzeria in North Charleston. After the truffles made it to the dessert menu, it wasn’t long before word spread and other Charleston shops were asking for Johnny’s chocolates.
