Junior League of Charleston to Host Re-Launch Party for Cookbook
On Thursday, November 10th, The Junior League of Charleston (JLC) will celebration the re-release of Charleston Recipes, a cookbook that was first published in 1949. The publication pre-dates the famous Charleston Receipts cookbook.
The event, which will be held at the William Aiken House at 456 King Street, includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages inspired by Charleston Recipes. Copies of the cookbook will be for sale at the event. Plus, The Lee Bros. and Nathalie Dupree will be in attendance.
All proceeds raised will be used to
further the JLC’s mission of training and developing the potential of women, while focusing on helping those in need in the surrounding community.
Essentially lost for decades, Charleston Recipes was recently rediscovered in an attic by Josephine Humphreys, a former JLC member and daughter of the original editor Martha Lynch Humphreys.
The event will run from 7 pm to 10 pm. To purchase tickets or the cookbook, visit https://www.jlcharleston.org/charleston-recipes/
