Carolina Challenge Cup Once Again Pits Three MLS Teams Against Battery
This February, the Charleston Battery will once again host the annual Carolina Challenge Cup (CCC). As usual, the event will feature four teams and six matches over three days at MUSC Health Stadium.
Besides the hometown Battery, three Major League Soccer teams – The Seattle Sounders, Columbus Crew SC, and Atlanta United – are participating in the 13th Challenge Cup.
The event will be a great opportunity for Charleston fans to get their first look at the Battery as they take on some top competition. This year’s tournament rosters include United States Men’s National Team players Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders) and Ethan Finlay (Columbus Crew SC), former Battery player Osvaldo Alonso (Seattle Sounders), and Trinidad & Tobago captain Kenwyne Jones (Atlanta United).
Here is this year’s schedule:
Saturday, February 18th
- 4:30 pm: Charleston Battery vs. Columbus Crew SC
- 7 pm: Atlanta United vs. Seattle Sounders
Wednesday, February 22nd
- 5 pm: Atlanta United vs. Columbus Crew SC
- 7:30 pm: Charleston Battery vs. Seattle Sounders
Saturday, February 25th
- 4:30 pm: Seattle Sounders vs. Columbus Crew SC
- 7 pm: Charleston Battery vs. Atlanta United
All 2017 Charleston Battery season ticket plans include CCC tickets. Season ticket packages are on sale now. Tickets for the 2017 CCC will be available for purchase beginning on Friday, November 25th. Single-game tickets start at $30 and series passes start at $60. Special rates for groups of 15 or more are available. To purchase on November 25th, visit charlestonbattery.com.
