As you can imagine, Holy City Sinner gets inundated with press releases and information – especially from the food and beverage community. I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible.

  1. In early October, Hurricane Matthew caused the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) to temporarily halt the harvesting and distribution of local oysters. On Thursday, November 10th, Shem Creek’s Tavern & Table will celebrate the relaunch of oyster season with local oyster supplier, St. Jude Farms. Their “Oysters on the Dock” event will run from 6 pm to 9 pm and is free to attend. Click here for more information.
  2. Fish restaurant announced the appointments of a new executive chef and general manager. Chef David Schuttenberg now heads the Fish culinary team while Katie Hajjar has taken over as general manager.
  3. Throughout the month of November, CO will host “Movember Mondays,” where a portion of every dish sold will support Movember (excludes small dishes, dumplings, and happy hour). Proceeds will go to The Movember Foundation, the only charity tackling men’s health and addressing some of the biggest health issues faced by men.
  4. On 11/15, Caviar & Bananas, Croghan’s Jewel Box, & Hobnob Entertaining host “How We Holiday!,” an event featuring samplings and wine from C&B’s new holiday menu. Patrons will also be treated to a how-to from Croghan’s on creative ways to use your silver and the best décor secrets from Hobnob for Thanksgiving to New Year’s. Special appearance by calligrapher, Page Palmer, who will be on site making ornaments for each guest. Click here for more info.
  5. The Coosaw Creek Crab Shack’s 8th Annual “Locals’ Local Oyster Roast” is set to take place on Sunday, November 20th at 1 pm. The annual event will feature an all-you-can-eat oyster roast, beer and drink specials, raffles, and more. Tickets are on sale now at the Coosaw Creek Crab Shack only.
