John Waters Wants to Get Dirtier & Filthier at the Music Hall

Published

on

waters-post-1Director, screenwriter, and comedian John Waters will perform at the Charleston Music Hall on Friday, March 10th at 8 pm. The show is recommended for mature audiences.

Water is best known for his “trash epics” like “Pink Flamingos,” “Female Trouble,” “Desperate Living,” “Polyester,” “Serial Mom,” “Pecker,”  “Cecil B. Demented,” and “A Dirty Shame.”

Two of his more commercial films were adapted for the stage – “Hairspray” and “Cry Baby.”

Waters’s show at the Music Hall will be a “rapid-fire one-man spoken word ‘vaudeville’ act that celebrates his film career and joyously appalling taste.” The performance will focus on his “early negative artistic influences, his fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy, the extremes of the art world, Catholicism, sexual deviancy, and a love of reading.”
