After Social Media Rant, Map of “T-Rav-Free Safe Zones” is Created

By now, you are all probably aware of the tiff between Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel and Craig Nelson, the owner of Proof. If not, a brief recap follows…

Early Tuesday morning, T-Rav took to Facebook and went on a T-Rant about Nelson. Here’s what he had to say:

“The thinnest skinned wimp I’ve ever encountered runs Proof. After 13 years he’s still pouting from the smallest of slights. Craig is such a little girl. Cry baby cry. Tonight this man child had a temper tantrum not unlike a two year old. One day I’m going to teach this boy a lesson. Ah, but I won’t. Zero competition.”

Predictably, plenty of people replied to Ravenel’s comments, which you should look through for some further entertainment. Once T-Rav’s post started to make the rounds on social media, the Charleston City Paper reached out to both parties to see what the heck happened.

Essentially, the feud began 13 years ago after an incident at a downtown restaurant. Ravenel asserts that since the episode, Nelson has worked to ban him from several area restaurants and bars. Both parties told the City Paper that Ravenel went into Proof on Monday night to talk things out…and it did not go well. You can read both sides of the story on the City Paper‘s website – Nelson’s version, Ravenel’s version.

Many local social media users shared their opinions of the situation on Facebook and Twitter, and although some people came to Ravenel’s defense, the vast majority (that Holy City Sinner saw) were on Nelson’s side.

In fact, with so many people celebrating the fact that Proof was still a “T-Rav-Free Zone,” a local Food and Bev community member (who preferred to remain anonymous) decided to create a Google Map of all the other “T-Rav Safe Zones” around the peninsula. They are asking local businesses to e-mail him (TRavSafeZones@gmail.com) if Ravenel is unwelcome at their establishments. He will update the map as more information comes in.

You can see the map below, or by visiting T-RavSafezones.com.

The whole T-Rav Safe Zone is sophomoric, disgusting and you should all be ashamed of yourselves. You can also make it a Leslie B Safe Zone bc I don’t give business to bullies or immature business owners! Really! Put me out n the map! Never again!

Sophomoric? Ironic. See ya, never! Totally cool with never seeing anyone that associates with him

Is Leslie B someone we should care about? Do you contribute to the community in any way?

Did I say that I “hang out” with him?
I said nothing of the sort. I’ve never even met him! But, your behaviors are ridiculous from an adult point of view. I’ll make sure people understand that. You’ve closed ONE place already. Your hurting yourself acting like this. Just an outsiders point of view- and, a Business woman/owner. Dumb!

          You’re means ‘you are.’
          Your means ‘your.’

I thought you’d have a better grasp of the English language considering you graduated from The Citadel, T-Rav.

Perhaps the greatest service that concerned citizens of Charleston have bestowed on their fellow citizens of Charleston. We the many indeed owe so much to the few.

It’s shame that you have to defend your grown son, as a mother of three & grandmother of 6 & 1 on the way sir I totally understand.
Hopefully he gets his life together as well as the mother of their children & resolve these ugly issues soon.
I must say that I adore you Arthur, you are a true southern gentleman.
