East Cooper Meals on Wheels Partners with Whole Foods
East Cooper Meals on Wheels has been selected as the beneficiary of the next Whole Foods Market “5% Day.” On Tuesday, March 21st, 5% of net sales at the Mount Pleasant store will be donated to help the local nonprofit deliver healthy meals to homebound neighbors in the community.
Whole Foods Market will be open from 8 am to 9 pm for the event, and purchases of everything from flowers to coffee and seafood to wine will earn a donation for East Cooper Meals on Wheels.
East Cooper Meals on Wheels serves anyone who is homebound, regardless of age or income. The local nonprofit relies heavily on the community for support to ensure that no homebound neighbor goes without a meal. In addition, over 450 volunteers actively give of their time to pack and deliver each meal. For the 300 people who receive a delivery each day, East Cooper Meals on Wheels provides much more than just a meal. Volunteers provides homebound neighbors with a safety check, social interaction and much more.
