Cruise to Offer Views of Total Eclipse and Raise Money for Darkness To Light
On August 21st, the highly anticipated total eclipse will take place at 2:48 pm, bringing approximately a minute and half of complete darkness to the Holy City. For those looking for unobstructed view of the astrological event, The Carolina Girl, a special events yacht, will open their decks to the public for a 3-hour cruise around the harbor.
The event will include an open bar and light Hors d’oeuvres. A portion of the ticket proceeds will be donated to Darkness to Light, an organization that has been dedicated to ending child sexual abuse since its founding in 2000. The program raises awareness of the prevalence and consequences of child sexual abuse by educating adults about the steps they can take to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to the reality of child sexual abuse.
The Carolina Girl’s Eclipse Cruise will board at 12:45 pm and will journey around the harbor from 1 pm to 4 pm. Special eclipse glasses will be provided to all guests. Tickets are $100 with a portion of the proceeds going directly to Darkness to Light. They can be purchased by e-mailing Ashley Davis at Ashley@carolinagirlevents.com.
Be prepared to celebrate the “coolest” two minutes of summer aboard The Carolina Girl. For more information visit Charleston CVB or call 843-818-2495.
