Leftovers: Tidbits from the Food & Bev Community (5/7/17)

As you can imagine, Holy City Sinner gets inundated with press releases and information – especially from the food and beverage community. I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible.

3. This Mother’s Day, SOL Southwest Kitchen & Tequila Bar in Mount Pleasant and Summerville will each host a Mother’s Day Brunch. For reservations, call the restaurants at 843-875-7090 (Mt. P) and 843-388-4302 (Summerville).

5.  Camp Happy Days needs your empty cans for their arts & crafts program area. Please drop off clean cans at the Camp Happy Days office between 9 am- 5 pm, Monday through Friday by June 30th. The office address is 1622 Ashley Hall Rd. in Charleston. Questions? Contact Ashley@camphappydays.com.

7. Fill Restaurant & Piano Bar has launched new Dinner & Dessert menus. The spring/summer inspired menu includes Lamb Meatballs, Asian Style Baby Back Ribs, Phyllo Wrapped Brie, Potato Wrapped Snapper, Maple Pecan Encrusted Salmon, a Grilled Hanger Steak, and more. 8.  Cane Rhum Bar is having a pop-up dinner at Mex 1 in Sullivan’s Island on Wednesday, May 17th.  The dinner begins at 5 pm and features plates by Chef Paul Yellin. Plus, Ward Buckheister will perform during the event. Follow Mex 1 on Facebook for more info.

9. Red’s Ice House is sponsoring a rubber duck race on Shem Creek to benefit the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center. The ducks can be purchased for $20 each. Proceeds go towards women’s cancer research. The first duck to reach the finish line wins a prize. Ducks can be purchased at Red’s Shem Creek, Tavern and Table, or the Hollings Cancer Center. For more information, follow Red’s on Facebook.

10. Shem Creek Bar & Grill invites patrons to join them for Mother’s Day brunch starting at 11 am on Sunday, May 14th.
