Charleston Area Hospitality and Tourism Leaders Honored for Dedicated Service
The Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CACVB) presented five Golden Pineapple Awards in recognition of outstanding service to the local hospitality industry during the Travel Council Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. More than 300 attendees gathered at The Gaillard Center to applaud the Golden Pineapple Award recipients and also to hear travel industry insights from luncheon keynote speaker Jacqueline Gifford, Special Projects Editor at Travel & Leisure.
Since the CACVB’s inception in 1985, the Golden Pineapple Awards have recognized individuals and organizations who promote positive growth of tourism, the Charleston area’s largest industry. This year’s recipients include the following:
- Renee Anderson, Vice-Chairwoman of the Charleston Gaillard Center, was recognized for her strategic role in the renovation of the world-class center.
- Michael Bennett, Owner of Bennett Hospitality, was honored for his significant role in the upper King Street development.
- Ike High, CACVB International & Golf Sales Manager, and Nicole Neal, Visitor Planner, were recognized for 10 years of outstanding service to the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and their committed service and dedication to the quality and growth of the hospitality industry.
Additionally, the Lawrimore-Craven Leadership award was presented to Beverly Craven, Charleston County Clerk of Council, who was also recognized for her outstanding service and dedication to the quality and growth of the hospitality industry.
