Chef Jonathan Wu of New York City has this week brought his Chinese-American cuisine to Charleston for two events.

Wu is the chef and owner of Fung Tu in NYC’s Lower East Side. The restaurant’s menu is influenced by his Chinese roots and upbringing as well as his years of training in New York’s classic French kitchens such as Le Bernardin and Per Se.

Chef Wu will be doing two unique collaborations. The first will be on Monday, July 3rd with Chef Chelsey Conrad of Butcher & Bee. The pair will be serving a collaborative menu of summer dishes – a mash up of Chinese, American, Middle Eastern, and Southern Fare. The event runs from 5 pm to 9 pm. For reservations, call 843-619-0202.

The other collaboration with Chef Joshua Walker of Xiao Bao Biscuit on Wednesday, July 5th. The duo will serve a menu of Dim Sum including dishes like Fava Beancurd Terrine, Pork Belly Egg Rolls, Seasonal Vegetable Salad with don-fu ro, and Shrimp Soup Dumplings. The dim sum dishes will be available together as a tray or individually for $5 per dish. This event runs from 5:30 pm to 10 pm.
