Turns out there will be a Lowcountry Giving Day after all. Late last year, organizers announced that the annual nonprofit fundraising day was canceled, but a local group has since stepped in to host a revamped version of the event.

The Collective Force Foundation, in partnership with the Charleston Riverdogs, have taken over and updated the online giving experience to also include an all day philanthropic festival, education day, and music and comedy showcase celebration on Tuesday, September 19th at Joe Riley Stadium. The event, which will run from 10 am to 10 pm 3 pm to 9 pm, will include:

  • 140 nonprofits from Berkeley, Charleston, & Dorchester
  • 23 local bands playing live music throughout the day on two stages on the Riverdogs Stadium’s concourse
    • Stop Light Observations, Matt Monday, Whitehall, Contour, Pierce Alexander, Slim and the S.O.U.L, Bizness Suit, Anfernee, Dylan Swinson, Abstract that Rapper, Tyler Boone, Joshua Jarman, Cat Strickland, Orange Doors, Niecy Blues, Cisco Kids, Out of Order, Town, Wildisiak, Mike McFly, Rebecca Smith, and Emily Curtis Band
  • A series of special dance routines from the Burke High School Step Team: The Gentlemen of Duty & Distinction will round out a few of the sets
  • Comedian showcase
  • Raffles
  • Food and drink for sale

According to organizers, the goals of this year’s giving day are to raise awareness, elevate participation, increase service opportunities, educate children on philanthropic giving, cultivate meaningful relationships, and celebrate the good work of the featured nonprofits and their volunteers.
