Daniel Island Grille Donates Scholarships to Bishop England Students

Daniel Island Grille (DIG) has always valued giving back to their community and their annual scholarship donation to local Bishop England High School exemplifies their strong community ties. Daniel Island Grille will present two scholarships to one male student and one female student from Bishop England High School for the 2018-2019 school year.

Daniel Island Grille’s most popular burger has been renamed the “Battling Bishop Burger” and $1.00 from every Battling Bishop Burger goes to the Bishop England Scholarship Fund. Last year, Daniel Island Grille was able to award two $1000 scholarships to one male and one female student. Daniel Island Grille’s General Manger Chris Perrine acknowledges that “the community means a lot to Daniel Island Grille. We want to support the local community and Bishop England High School is an important part of that community.”

Bishop England High School will go back to school on August 22nd. Anyone can nominate a student from Bishop England by going to the Daniel Island Grille website. There is a form with details about the student’s graduation date, GPA, sports they have participated in, community involvement and the reason for the student’s nomination. One male and one female student will be chosen in May 2018. The scholarship can be used for textbooks, tuition, school supplies and more. Daniel Island Grille opened it’s doors in 2008 and has since become Daniel Island’s destination for high definition sports and great food. It’s fun for the whole family with their variety of daily specials. On Monday, DIG hosts Family Bingo Night from 7:00pm-9:00pm where customers can buy one and receive one kid’s meal for free with the purchase of an adult entree. Tuesday is Wine Night at DIG and all day, bottles of wine are half price with cheese board specials available from 5:00pm-10:00pm. Daniel Island Grille offers Team Trivia on Wednesday at 7:00pm and Flight Night on Thursday from 5:00pm-10:00pm. On Thursday, customers can sample flights of beer for only $7.00 with $4.00 beer brats and $5.00 Bavarian pretzels. DIG features live music on the patio every Friday from 6:00pm-9:00pm followed by Karaoke from 9:00pm- midnight, and a hearty brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am-2:00pm.
