Lowcountry Orphan Relief (LOR), a local non-profit organization that provides two weeks of clothing and school supplies to meet the needs of at-risk, abandoned, abused, and neglected children, will be hosting their 3rd Annual Fundraiser Gala in The Charleston Marriott’s Crystal Ballroom on Saturday, September 16th from 7 pm to 11 pm.

This year’s theme is “Moulin Rouge” and will feature a decadent “champagne dress lady” (right) who will welcome each guest as they arrive. Attendees can sip on champagne, enjoy an open bar, watch live can-can dancers, play blackjack at game tables, dance, and participate in both live and silent auctions.

The event will also include a special presentation from LOR founder Lynn Young, carving stations, and southern appetizers.

Since 2006, Lowcountry Orphan Relief has clothed over 22,000 children in the Tri-County area. LOR uses more than 76% of all monetary contributions to provide for the children’s needs. Presently, community volunteers at their Distribution Center in North Charleston are collecting and shelving donations in addition to filling orders for each child from area shelters, foster care, and those removed from the custody of their parents. The organization’s promise is that children receive clothing, toiletries, books and school supplies within 48 hours of being safely removed from their homes.
