DATE CHANGE: Join the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 23rd

Due to Hurricane Irma, this event has been moved to Saturday, September 23rd.

The 2017 Walk To End Alzheimer’s will be held at Riverfront Park in North Charleston on Saturday, September 16th. Registration begins at 9 am while the 1.5-mile walk starts at 10 am.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the worlds largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The event is held annually in more than 600 cities nationwide, including several in South Carolina.

It’s free to register for the event, but all walkers are encouraged to donate or raise money. Anyone that raises $100 or more will receive a Walk T-shirt. The event is family friendly, so bring the kids!

You can skip the registration lines on the day of the walk, by stopping by the Alzheimer’s Association Office on Wednesday, September 13th between 9 am and 7 pm. Visit 2090 Executive Hall Rd. in Charleston to turn in donations, get your promise garden wrist band, and/or pick up your official Walk t-shirt. All team captains that stop by will also receive a special gift.

Alzheimers disease is a growing epidemic and the nations sixth-leading cause of death. As baby boomers age, the number of individuals living with Alzheimers disease will rapidly escalate, increasing well beyond todays more than 5 million Americans to as many as 16 million by 2050.
