Ethen Richardson Foundation Awareness Community Party at the Rusty Rudder
The Ethen Richardson Foundation will be hosting their annual Awareness Community Party at the Rusty Rudder in Mount Pleasant on September 30, 2017 from 1:00PM – 6:00PM EST.
Ethen Richardson fought the battle with DIPG, a cancer that forms in the brainstem, and went home on May 7th, 2014. After his passing, family and friends vowed to keep his generous and loving spirit alive through a foundation that bears his name. The Ethen Richardson Foundation provides financial and emotional support to families of children suffering from terminal or life threatening illnesses.
“The federal budget for the National Cancer Institute is $4.6 billion. Of that, breast cancer receives 12%, prostate cancer 7%, yet all 16 major groups of pediatric cancers combined receive less than 4% of all funds. We cannot stress enough how important it is to raise awareness of childhood cancer. Wear gold for childhood cancer, GOLD is the new Pink,” said Brandy Richardson, of the Ethen Richardson Foundation.
At the Awareness Community Party there will be Live Music from Danny May and The Muddy Kings. There will also be two Cornhole Tournaments, an Adult Tournament and a Teen Tournament. Registration will start at 1PM at the Rusty Rudder and the tournament will start at 2pm. Participation will cost $40 per adult team with a 50% payout and Teen teams will be $40 per team and with 4 NFL Panther Football tickets for the winning team! (Game is Carolina Panthers vs. Minnesota Vikings at Bank Of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC)
All ages are welcome to attend. There will be face painting and balloon animals for children. A Best Awareness Costume Contest, think GOLD and Super Heroes, will be held where the judges will consist of tiny warriors that are fighting big battles. Tickets for the awareness party are $10.00 for admission and $10.00 for food including barbeque and oysters. All proceeds from the party will go towards The Ethen Richardson Foundations mission by helping families in need who have a child going through cancer.
