Camp Happy Days’ Heroes of Hope Gala to be held on 11/17
On Friday, November 17th, Camp Happy Days will host the Heroes of Hope Gala, the 28th Anniversary of the “Cabooty” Party. The event will be held at the Memminger Auditorium from 7 pm to 11 pm and will feature live entertainment by Super Deluxe, heavy hors d’oeuvres by Graze and Swig and Swine, an open bar. and live and silent auctions.
Founded in 1982, Camp Happy Days’ mission is to offer support and encouragement to children diagnosed with cancer and their families. With the help of this event, Camp Happy Days is able to help provide children with cancer cost free year-round programs, special events and access to crisis resources.
Allan “Cabooty” Cabading, a survivor of childhood cancer and one of Camp Happy Days’ first counselors, started the Gala in his own apartment as a tree-trimming party. It has now grown into a major fundraiser that is hosted by the organization and Cabading himself.
