UberEATS Arrives in Charleston Thursday
On Thursday, November 9th, UberEATS will launch in Charleston, offering food delivery from more than 70 restaurants, including Pawpaw, Poogan’s Smokehouse, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit, Cafe Framboise, Juliet, CO, Crave Kitchen and Cocktails, and Coleman Public House.
The UberEATS app is free to download and has been built to make getting great food as easy as getting a ride through the original Uber app. Starting tomorrow, Charleston residents can open the UberEATS app, order food from a local restaurant, and have it delivered to their home. Customers can track their order in the app, get an estimated delivery time, and use the same account they use to take rides. For $5 off your first two UberEATS orders, enter the promo code EATSCHS in the app.
Here’s how UberEATS works:
Download the free standalone UberEATS app for iOS or Android
Login with your Uber account
Find a restaurant you know and love, and pick what you want from their menu
Pay with your card on file
Watch as the order is picked up and delivered to you

Why is it when a family owned and operated local delivery service attempts to get publicity like this, it does not happen. Yet when the big guys, the ones with all the money they could ever need for marketing and ads do a press release there are articles everywhere. Quite sad, that once again whoever has the most money wins!

I can’t speak for other outlets, but I’ve posted about smaller delivery services before. I think the most recent one was just last year – The Berry Dispatch which has since gone out of business. http://www.holycitysinner.com/2016/05/24/grocery-meal-delivery-service-now-available-in-charleston/
Is there a particular service you are thinking of?

Yes, actually the service is based in Mount Pleasant SC and is called Takeouttown.com. They have partnered with some local restaurants and offer delivery from a few franchises as well. They deliver to Sullivans island, Isle of Palms, Daniel Island and most all of Mount Pleasant area. Thank you for replying,
