UPDATE: Saltwater Cowboys to Open on Shem Creek
Saltwater Cowboys, previously known as Cottage on the Creek, is schedule to open this month (the restaurant did not open in November as planned. There has been no revised date announced) on Shem Creek. The bar and restaurant will be located at 130 Mill Street.
The location includes a newly remodeled rooftop, a dog-friendly patio, an outdoor bar, and over 60 feet of floating dock.
Saltwater Cowboys comes from Mt. Pleasant natives Wade Boals and Brett Yearout, who have teamed up with European restaurateur Joel Olindo, a co-owner of Mt. Pleasant’s Nico. The restaurant will be managed by Luis Rodriquez.
Head chef Ryan Love will offer a menu of locally-sourced seafood including shrimp from Shem Creek’s own Mrs. Judy Too and fish from Charleston Star and The Geechie Dock. The restaurant will also have onsite pit smoked BBQ by pit master David Carter.
Patrons can also enjoy over 20 beers, a specialty bourbon bar, and an extensive wine menu.

They opened but they forgot to pay their contractor and subs for last three or four months of work. The restaurant now has a lien on it and will probably be closed or foreclosed. Not cool of Wade Boals, Brett Yearout and Joel Olindo (who probably is trying to stifle competition since he is also a partner in Nico’s down the street).
