500 Sailors Spell HEROES on USS Yorktown Flight Deck

On Friday, about 500 sailors from the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command at Joint Base Charleston volunteered at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum as part of the Trident United Way’s Day of Caring.
The volunteers teamed with Patriots Point staff to complete dozens of projects including:
- Cleaning of aircraft
- Removing debris from the ships
- Painting the Vietnam Experience
- Reconditioning sandbags
- Painting the USS Yorktown’s flight deck
- Museum landscaping
- and more
