Local Outfitter to Host Author Bob Fox

The Backpacker Quality Gear store in Mt. Pleasant’s Belle Hall Shopping Center will host Bob Fox (right), the author of The Endless Trail: Socrates’ Sandals on the Appalachian Trail, on Saturday, December 2nd from 10 am to 2 pm. He will sign copies of his hiker memoir detailing his son Eric’s quest. Eric “Socrates,” who hikes in unusual footwear, will also be available.
Eric “Socrates” Meeks, Cooper “Shadow Monk” Walter, and company attempted to thru-hike the entire 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail in one grand pilgrimage. The struggles, dangers, and interesting characters they encounter will entertain even the armchair hiker. Eric is forever changed by spending six months in the woods. He is more grounded, at peace, and more mindful than before his transformative hike.
The Backpacker Quality Gear store is located at 608 D Long Point Road. Signed copies of the book may be purchased for $10 at the event.
