Holy City Brewing Brings Madam Basil Release Party to Redux
On Monday, December 11th, Holy City Brewing will holdt a release party for their basil saison, Madam Basil, at the Redux Contemporary Art Center. The event is free to attend (with a suggestion donation) and runs from 7 pm to 10 pm.
The event will be held in collaboration with SEVEN – A Visual Craftsman. Connor Lock from SEVEN designed the can art for the beer, and the beer is part of the BREWSTER Series, a Charleston-based organization started by Sarah Gayle McConnell of Tradesman Brewing Company. McConnell began the organization to raise money for female-focused nonprofits by getting women involved with the local craft brewing scene, and Madam Basil is Holy City Brewing’s addition to the series.
McConnell, representatives from Holy City Brewing, and the people from My Sister’s House, an organization that helps battered women and children get out of their bad situations and back on their feet, will speak at the party.
Beers will cost $5, and half of the beer sales will go towards My Sister’s House. In addition, purchase of your first beer will cover a four-course meal ticket, with food provided by Chef John O’Brien of Live Tastefully, compliments of SEVEN. There will also be a table where guests can donate directly to My Sister’s House.
Art from all of the Redux residents will also be for sale. The artists receive 100% commission for any pieces that they sell.
