Preservation Society’s 64th Annual Carolopolis Awards Set for 1/25
On Thursday, January 25th, the Preservation Society of Charleston will host the 64th Annual Carolopolis Awards and Preservation Party at the historic Riviera Theatre.
Celebrating the very best of preservation in the Holy CIty and expanding on its tradition of recognizing exemplary efforts in preservation, the Society will present 11 Carolopolis Awards and 3 Pro Merito Awards. Following the awards program, there will be a full reception, including heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer/wine, and live music.
Since 1953, the Preservation Society of Charleston has honored exceptional efforts to save historic structures through the Carolopolis Award program. The presentation of a Carolopolis Award plaque recognizes extraordinary private and public efforts to maintain the historic character of Charleston and the Lowcountry.
Advance tickets for the Awards presentation are $50 for members and $75 for guests and may be purchased at https://preservationsociety.org. Ticket price increases on January 18th. 100% of ticket sales directly benefit the Society’s mission of recognizing, protecting, and advocating for the Lowcountry’s historic places.
Founded in 1920 by Susan Pringle Frost, the Preservation Society of Charleston is the oldest grassroots historic preservation organization in America.
