City Paper: Upper Deck Tavern will Close at the End of the Month
The Charleston City Paper dropped something of a bombshell on Charleston food and bev fans today – the Upper Deck Tavern will close at the end of the month.
The downtown institution, ultimate dive bar, and karaoke hotspot has kept watch over their section of King Street for 16 years, but owner Ken Newman told the City Paper that the bar lost its lease and will soon close.
