Martha Lou’s Kitchen Included on List of Best Fried Chicken Restaurants

Downtown Charleston institution Martha Lou’s Kitchen was recently included in Thrillist’s list of the Best Fried Chicken Restaurants in America.

The restaurant’s homemade soul food has been delighting locals and tourists for three decades. The “no frills” pink building on Morrison Drive is home to some of the city’s best dishes – including the fried chicken, which Thrillist said “wisely never vanishes from the daily offerings. The double-dredged, peanut oil-fried bird comes out craggy and golden and begging to be paired with some cornbread and mac & cheese.”
