Edmund’s Oast Organizes “Switcharoo II” on March 2 to Raise Funds for Ben’s Friends
Starting at 5 pm on Friday, March 2nd, Edmund’s Oast will pause their normal service and host “Switcharoo II,” a fundraiser benefiting Ben’s Friends. During the event, bartenders will be chefs for the night, while national chefs will be behind the bar. The menu they all create will be available a la carte.
All the money raised will benefit Ben’s Friends, a food and beverage industry support group in Charleston offering hope, fellowship, and a path forward to professionals who struggle with substance abuse and addiction. Founded in honor of Ben Murray, a lifelong chef who took his own life after struggling with alcoholism for years, Ben’s Friends exists to provide a safe haven and an anonymous, judgment-free forum for workers in an industry that has one of the highest rates of substance abuse in the country. The first Switcharoo held in 2017, raised $3,000 to benefit this important charitable effort.
