Ronald McDonald House to host Plane Pull on USS Yorktown Flight Deck
On Saturday, April 14th, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston will host their inaugural Plane Pull from noon to 4 pm on the USS Yorktown Flight Deck at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum.
The event challenges teams of 10 to the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of pulling a F-18 Hornet, weighing about 18,000 pounds, the fastest over 100 feet. Teams will face elimination rounds until the final playoff. The unique competition gives organizations from across the Charleston area the chance to see if they can, in fact, pull an airplane in the fastest time.
All of the proceeds raised (a minimum of $2,500 per team) will support the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston. Costumes are encouraged. To register for the Plane Pull, visit CharlestonPlanePull.com.
Medals will be awarded for:
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for highest fundraising
- Best Team Name
- Fastest Team
- Slowest Team
- Most Spirited
