The Volvo Car Open has partnered with SunTrust to offer juniors 16 and under free admission to the professional tennis tournament happening March 31 – April 8, in Charleston, SC on Daniel Island. This program continues the tournament’s goal to grow the game of tennis and make the sport accessible for all.

Since partnering together in 2015, the Volvo Car Open and SunTrust have given out 21,000 free junior tickets to the tournament.

“The Volvo Car Open believes in our mission of making a positive impact within the community we serve by empowering and enhancing the lives of those within it,” said Bob Moran, Volvo Car Open President. “We’re proud to partner with SunTrust to offer an opportunity to share the sport of tennis with our youth. With the Volvo Car Open occurring during Spring Break this program provides a family-friendly, affordable activity in Charleston.”

“We are pleased to celebrate the 11th year of our partnership with this world-class tennis event,” said Mark Lattanzio, SunTrust Region President. “Supporting our community and our clients is a longstanding tradition at SunTrust, and events like this help us bring our community together and allows SunTrust to share our onUp movement, which has helped almost three million people nationwide take steps toward gaining greater financial confidence.”

With an emphasis on women, families and children, the Volvo Car Open supports various philanthropic ventures that place importance on sharing the sport of tennis – including the City of Charleston’s Courting Kids Program as well as an annual one-day inner-city youth tennis clinic, Tennis in the City.

In addition, the tournament hosts a Family Weekend during its opening qualifying rounds. Adult tickets on March 31 and April 1 are only $10. The weekend includes numerous activities for children to enjoy around the grounds, as well as action-packed tennis matches as players battle it out for a spot in the tournament’s main draw.

“We extremely value our partnership with SunTrust to offer juniors complimentary access to the tournament. With it, we hope to be able to inspire the next generation of tennis players and fans,” said Moran.

SunTrust will also sponsor the City of Charleston’s Tennis in the City event held at the Jack Adams Tennis Center in downtown Charleston during the Volvo Car Open. Since its inception in 2003, this event has made a profound impact on thousands of local, Charleston children. This occasion brings WTA tennis players, tennis pros, as well as high school and college teams together to introduce the game of tennis to local children, in turn helping them learn basics of the game in an exciting environment.

Complimentary junior tickets can be redeemed via volvocaropen.com/tickets/singlesessions/, by calling 800.677.2293 or via the Box Office, located at 161 Seven Farms Drive Charleston, SC 29492.
