Local, Female-Owned Tech Company Celebrates 5 Years in Business
One of Charleston’s leading small-scale web marketing firms, the 100 percent female-owned and -operated Green Bag Designs is turning five this year.
Founder Chris Majernik, an active member of Charleston business groups like BNI and Hatch Tribe, started Green Bag as a one-stop-shop for small business’ web needs. In five years, she’s grown the company to employ three other local women in tech and has clients nation-wide. Adoption agencies, forestry professionals, Catholic schools, jewelers and dentists are among the clients that Green Bag keeps running safely online.
Green Bag is a perfect example of how early adopters to Charleston’s growing small business and tech scenes are proving profitable. Chris also proves that cute can cut it in business. She named her company after the green Kate Space bag that met all her needs, her little cockapoo Bailey is the Instagram star of @greenbagdesigns, and the 5-year party at the company’s off in West Ashley’s refurbished Schoolhouse will be unicorn-themed.
