Stingrays Complete Record-Breaking Regular Season; Playoffs Begin Thursday in North Charleston

The South Carolina Stingrays recently completed the 2017-18 regular season as the winningest team in franchise history and now have their sights set on the 2018 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The team begins their postseason run on Thursday against the Orlando Solar Bears at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Aside from a franchise best record of 48-16-7-1, the team also broke several ECHL records, becoming the best defensive team in the history of the league. South Carolina now holds the following records:

• Least goals allowed in a regular season: 153
• Lowest team goals-against average: 2.13
• Fewest power play goals allowed: 27

In addition, goaltender Parker Milner’s league-best 1.86 goals-against average ranks fourth-best in ECHL history.

The Stingrays would surely love to add the Kelly Cup to the list of this year’s accomplishment and the path to the championship begins on Thursday. The first round schedule is as follows:

Game 1 – Orlando at South Carolina – Thursday, April 12th at 7:05 pm
Game 2 – Orlando at South Carolina – Saturday, April 14th at 7:05 pm
Game 3 – South Carolina at Orlando – Thursday, April 19th at 7 pm
Game 4 – South Carolina at Orlando – Saturday, April 21st at 7 pm
Game 5* – South Carolina at Orlando – Sunday, April 22nd at 6 pm
Game 6* – Orlando at South Carolina – Tuesday, April 24th at 7:05 pm
Game 7* – Orlando at South Carolina – Wednesday, April 25th at 7:05 pm
