RiverDogs Host Dogs with a Cause in Conjunction with Blackbaud

The Charleston RiverDogs will highlight eight local nonprofits this season on “Mondays at The Joe,” bringing back the weekly spotlight in conjunction with Blackbaud for the third consecutive season.

As part of the first Dogs with a Cause last week, the RiverDogs and Blackbaud, the local software and services organization for the global philanthropic community, shared the spotlight with local nonprofit Positive Strides, an advocate, education, and support organization for injured athletes. The second week brought Charleston’s The Invisible Illness to the forefront, a group focusing on the stigma surrounding mental health.

In addition to Blackbaud’s involvement with the “Dogs with a Cause” initiative, the company has also teamed up with the RiverDogs front office staff to help organize regular staff volunteer days, as well as take part in various FUNraisers at the Joe this season.

Eight organizations will be highlighted on each of Charleston’s Monday home dates this season:

  • April 16: Positive Strides
  • April 23: The Invisible Illness
  • May 7: Pets 4 G.I.s, Inc.
  • June 11: Spokes Group Charleston
  • July 16: Surfer’s Healing
  • July 23: Larry Legend’s D.R.E.A.M.S.
  • August 13: The Charleston Webb Center
  • September 3: Doors to Freedom

The third Dogs with a Cause takes place at Riley Park this Monday night at 7:05 pm as the RiverDogs wrap up a weeklong homestand.

RiverDogs single-game tickets, including options to the Riley Park Club, are now available for the 2018 campaign, the club’s 25th season as the RiverDogs and their “175thseason in dog years.” Ticket information can be secured by contacting the box office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) or online at www.riverdogs.com/tickets.
