One year after opening its gates, theBend, a 20-acre property on the banks of the Ashley River in North Charleston, announced the addition of two series to their schedule.
This spring, theBEND will continue its free weekly birding sessions (Tuesday mornings) and bi-weekly Golden Hour photography (Thursday evenings), and will introduce “Streetside,” an outdoor break area for Azalea Drive’s busy thoroughfare with ample seating, parking, free solar-enabled public wifi, and beginning May 11th, food trucks on Fridays during lunch hours. The first food truck participating in the Pop-Up Lunch at Streetside series will be the Charleston Caribbean Creole.
Additionally, the first of many “Open Days” is set for June 2, and then again on the first Saturday of each month. From early morning through the afternoon, guests can enjoy this free, do-it-yourself event. Guests are encouraged to bring picnics, frisbees, hammocks, books, and other items to maximize a day outdoors. Birding sessions will be offered throughout the afternoon.
Public programs and events are regularly posted to theBEND’s Gatherings page and shared on social media.
