Art In The City Returns on June 1st

Roper St. Francis Ryan White Wellness Center will host its annual Art In The City ‘White Party’ on Friday, June 1st from 6 pm to 8pm at the Mitchell Hill Gallery. The event, now in its eighth year, coincides with the Spoleto Festival and features a night filled with art, live music, and libations.
All proceeds from the event and its auctions/raffles benefit the nonprofit, which raises awareness and funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS in Charleston. In addition, 10 percent of gallery sales on June 1 will also be donated back to the program.
Attendees can participate in silent auctions and luck of the draw raffles for a chance to win donated artwork, including paintings, jewelry, artisan crafts, photography prints and much more. Auction items feature creations by Noon Day Collection, Tom Potock, Adam Chandler Photography, Old Whaling Company, Sam Mathis, Mark Raush, Wan Marsh, Fallon Pepper, Michael Irving, Serment Aslan, AR Workshop, Andrea Serano, Alexandra Searles and Ashley Reid Martin, among others.
The night will feature music by DJ Lonatron, special guest bartenders from The Cocktail Bandits, drinks by Cherryshine Whiskey and Kombucha Kart, and catering by One80Place Job Training Program. Local drag performer Brooke Collins will emcee the night and also perform.
A $10 donation at the door is strongly suggested for entry into the event. Light food, dessert and complimentary drinks will be provided to all attendees. Guests are also encouraged to wear all white. You can also purchase tickets here.
The party will also highlight the importance of National HIV Testing Day on June 27th. The Wellness Center will be conducting free HIV testing services at local Walgreens on this date.
The Ryan White Wellness Center is a federally-funded medical home for people in the in the tri-county area living with HIV/AIDS and a prevention center for who those who are negative. Since 2000, the organization has pledged to become a premier healthcare provider in the fight against HIV/AIDS and the preferred HIV care in the Lowcountry. All services are free to those who qualify. Its vision is to foster an HIV-free generation through quality care, case management, prevention, outreach and advocacy.
