BCDCOG to Host Regional Transit Framework Plan Open House

Published

on

The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) will host a public open house to discuss the Regional Transit Framework Plan (RTFP). The Alternatives Open House will take place on Wednesday, June 6 at Charleston Southern University, 9200 University Blvd., North Charleston, SC 29406 in the Whitfield Center (Drew Conference Room).

Attendees are welcome to drop by and learn about high-capacity transit corridor alternatives any time between 4 – 7 p.m. The site is accessible by CARTA Route 10 Rivers Ave.

The BCDCOG will present a short list of high-capacity transit corridors identified during the RTFP process as priorities for the region. Attendees will have the opportunity to review the framework and alternatives, provide written comments, and meet with the BCDCOG and study team members. Over the past several months, the project team has been utilizing a variety of evaluation measures to narrow down the list of high capacity transit corridors that were presented during a public workshop earlier this year.

For those who are unable to attend the Alternatives Open House, an online version of the meeting will be available at http://bcdcog.com/framework/ immediately following the in-person event on June 6, 2018 and will be live through July 6, 2018, for public engagement.

ABOUT BCDCOG: The BCDCOG is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, and was established to assist Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester county leaders in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development. BCDCOG’s purpose is to strengthen the individual and collective power of local governments and to help them recognize regional opportunities, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make joint decisions.
