High Wire Distilling Co. Announces 2nd Annual Amazing Negroni Tour Taking Place This Week

This week, High Wire Distilling Co. in partnership with Bottles Beverage Superstore, announced its second annual Amazing Hat Trick Negroni Tour, a week-long celebration of the classic cocktail and the cocktail making prowess of Charleston’s local bartenders.

The Italian-born classic Negroni cocktail dates back to the early 20^th century. According to historical accounts, Count Camillo Negroni created a sensation when he ordered an Americano cocktail, typically made with sweet vermouth, Campari, and club soda, with gin in place of soda. Named in his honor, the Negroni is famously made in three equal parts, though modern bartenders now create countless variations with myriad ingredients.

The Amazing Hat Trick Negroni Tour comprises 20 locations in the Charleston area (listed below). Each location has designed a special negroni cocktail made with High Wire’s signature product, Hat Trick Botanical Gin. Those interested in joining the tour can pick up their Amazing Hat Trick Negroni Tour Pass at each participating location, High Wire Distilling Co, or Bottles Beverage Superstore. As tour guests visit tour locations and order the featured Hat Trick Negroni, they receive a custom stamp in their tour pass. Once they collect 7 stamps, they can turn their tour pass in at High Wire Distilling Co. and receive a special prize. Tour guests must be 21 years of age or older with valid ID to participate. Only one tour pass is allowed per person. The deadline for redeeming stamped tour passes is 6 pm, June 17^th at High Wire Distilling Co. (652 King Street, Charleston).

The Amazing Hat Trick Negroni Tour will kick off Monday, June 4^th at Warehouse (45 ½ Spring Street). Local bartenders Justin Simko (Husk) and Roderick Groetzinger (Sermet’s) will be serving up their signature negronis alongside a “negroni picnic” from Chef Jason Daly. All proceeds will be donated to Palmetto Medical Initiative, an organization that “exists to provide quality, affordable healthcare to people in need.”
