Press Release
–
The City of North Charleston’s Cultural Arts Department is pleased to offer the first of two Summer Children’s Theatre presentations on Friday, June 29, 2018, featuring R.A.P. – Realize Anything’s Possible performed by Cutright and Ike Hill. The motivational music program is for all ages and features two showings at two different locations. Daycares, community groups, families, and individuals are welcome to attend the 10:00am showing at Northwoods Park and Recreation Center at 8348 Greenridge Road and/or the 2:00pm showing at Danny Jones Recreation Center at 1455 Monitor Street in North Charleston. Tickets are $2 per child with accompanying adults admitted at no charge. Parking is free.
Cutright and Ike Hill, members of JustHIS League Music Group (JHLMG), deliver an entertaining and energetic presentation using humor, crowd engagement, and hip-hop to help youth realize that anything is possible when you have the right perspective. Rap music is arguably one of the most popular and influential music genres among today’s youth, and when it’s paired with a positive message it can make a lasting impression that could impact them for the rest of their lives. By way of a full production rap concert, Cutright and Ike Hill connect with youth through positive music while delivering an encouraging message, hitting on topics like literacy, respecting one another’s differences, persevering through obstacles, having an optimistic attitude, reaching goals through self-discipline, and discovering potential.
JHLMG is based in Charlotte, NC, and consists of musicians, minsters, and artistically minded individuals from different denominations that travel the nation spreading positive messages that encourage people of all ages and backgrounds. Their artists have shared the stage with Grammy Award-winning and nominated musicians such as Lecrae, Israel Houghton, Mali Music, and Tye Tribbett. Aside from making great, clean, positive music, JHLMG also runs the non-profit organization Shake the City, which focuses on caring for the less fortunate, mentoring youth through creative arts, and encouraging incarcerated juveniles and adults throughout North and South Carolina.
