Magnolia Plantation and Gardens to Host 5th Annual Ladybug Release in July
Magnolia Plantation and Gardens will host the 5th Annual Ladybug Release on Saturday, July 21st from 9 am until 2 pm.
About 200,000 ladybugs will be set free in an effort to help control other small, more harmful insects such as aphids and scale insects.
The distribution of ladybugs will begin at approximately 10 am with the arrival of a Volkswagen Beetle resembling a gigantic ladybug. The event will also feature more than 20 exhibits including nature displays, interactive activities, environmental organizations, and face painting.
Come dressed in your favorite ladybug costume and be a part of the costume contest! Prizes will be awarded for the following categories: children ages 3 and under, ages 4 to 6, ages 7 and up, and family/group.
Paid garden admission is required to participate and children must be accompanied by an adult. Garden admission is $20 for adults, $10 for children 6 to 12 years, and children 5 and under get in for free.
