The South Carolina Aquarium’s Shark Week Returns on July 22nd

The South Carolina Aquarium’s version of Shark Week will run from Sunday, July 22nd through Saturday the 28th. Visitors can experience seven days of activities and programs dedicated to the ocean’s apex predator.

• Expert speakers
• Photo opportunities centered on sharks
• Daily Programs
  • 10 am to 2 pm – DIY “I ❤ Sharks” Bag
    • Make your own DIY “I ❤ Sharks” bag (while supplies last)
  • 10:30 am – Shark Talks
    • Hear all about a day in the life of a shark expert
  • 1 pm – Shark Tooth Dig
    • Dig for shark teeth, learn about different species, then take your treasure home with you
  • 2 pm – Ray Enrichment
    • Learn how sharks and rays are related, and watch how they react to changes in their environment with special enrichment toys
  • 3 pm – Special Dive Show
    • Let our divers introduce you to the newest members of the The Great Ocean Tank, the sand tiger sharks
  • 3:30 pm – Livestream of Shark Feeding
    • Watch dinner time with the sharks in the Recovery Theater
• Ongoing Activities
  • Find Finzy the Shark in a shark-themed scavenger hunt and claim your prize at the Information Desk
  • Help name the new sand tiger sharks
    • Submit your vote any time during Shark Week, and find out if your name was chosen on Saturday, July 28th
    • You can vote for your favorite name(s) with spare change. All proceeds will support shark care at the South Carolina Aquarium.
  • Keep an eye out for insta-worthy photo opportunities throughout the Aquarium (use #SCASharkWeek)
