The Gavalas Kolanko Foundation (GKF), a nonprofit organization that funds scholarships for Lowcountry students with disabilities, announced today that the 3rd annual GKF Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Daniel Island Club.

Presented by MassMutual South Carolina, registration for the event will include full access to the Daniel Island Club facilities, boxed lunch, a BBQ after party, beverages, a golfer’s gift, auction items, and support of the GKF mission. Proceeds from the golf tournament will directly fund future scholarships for students with disabilities in the Lowcountry.

The Daniel Island Club, one of Charleston’s premier private golf clubs, features the country’s only private pairing of golf courses designed by Tom Fazio and Rees Jones. The Fazio-designed Beresford Creek is a nationally ranked, par 72 course that includes views of marshland, creeks and waterways. Recently re-designed, the GKF Golf Tournament will provide golfers with their first opportunity to play on the new Beresford Creek course.

Participants can register as an individual player for $500 or as a team of four for $2,000. Sponsorship opportunities are also available and can be reviewed here. For sponsorship questions, or to pledge your support, contact Carrie Andress (carrie@momentumresults.com; 843-377-8450 ext. 121).

Since GKF’s inception, the organization has raised more than $1 Million and awarded 165 scholarships to Lowcountry students. Funds raised through the Golf Tournament and the James Island Connector Run have supported students attending the College of Charleston, Charleston Southern University, the Citadel, Trident Technical College, the Medical University of the South and the Art Institute of Charleston.

Since its inception, the GKF has awarded 165 scholarships and raised more than $1 million for Lowcountry students.
