Reading Partners Selected as Finalist for $25,000 Grant Contest – They Need Your Votes!
Reading Partners South Carolina today announced that it has been selected as one of the Top 200 finalists in the State Farm Neighborhood Assist® grant program. There were over 2,000 applicants nationwide.
As one of only three organizations chosen in South Carolina, Reading Partners has the opportunity to win $25,000 to support struggling readers in the Lowcountry – but they need your vote. You can vote for them here. You have the chance to vote 10 times a day between August 15th through August 24th.
Reading Partners has a proven track record of helping children in low-income schools become confident and proficient readers. During the 2018-19 school year, over 900 community volunteers will deliver 1-on-1 literacy intervention to more than 800 elementary students in Charleston and Berkeley counties. State Farm’s investment in Reading Partners South Carolina will help provide a high-quality program to struggling young readers at 17 high poverty elementary schools.
Now in its seventh year, the State Farm Neighborhood Assist® program will award $25,000 each to the 40 organizations with the most online votes across the country.
