Give a Big ‘Thank You’ To Our Troops with “The Bert Show’s” Annual Campaign
95SX’s morning radio show, “The Bert Show,” is kicking off their Big Thank You campaign this fall, giving thanks to all the men and women that serve our country. The annual effort aims to provide every active service member deployed outside the United States with a handwritten thank you letter on Thanksgiving Day.
Make a pledge to help the show reach their goal of 170,000 letters and ensure that every single person deployed outside the United States receives a handwritten thank you letter from home to open at mail call.
“On Thanksgiving, we think about everything we have to be grateful for, and sometimes we take for granted what’s not right in front of us,” host Bert Weiss said via a press release. “To think about being apart from my kids or family during the holidays, it’s unimaginable. The sacrifices that our servicemen and women make are immeasurable, and we all want to say thank you. We’re hoping that everyone can come together to help us reach out goal of 170,000 letters. This is ambitious, but that’s why we need the entire Charleston community to help.”
More than one million handwritten letters from all over the nation and beyond have been collected since the inception of the campaign in 2009. School systems, corporations and celebrities from across the country have shown their support by writing personalized letters and have encouraged students, customers and fans to do the same. “The Bert Show” has even received calls from former First Lady Michelle Obama and former President Bill Clinton, congratulating them on the Big Thank You campaign’s overall success in previous years. Every letter should be heartfelt, handwritten, original, and free of any political statements.
In order for soldiers to receive the letters by Thanksgiving Day, all letters must be submitted by Wednesday, October 24th, 2018.
