Support for Fallen Officer Terrence Carraway and Six Officers Shot in the Line of Duty in Florence
In response to seven police officers being shot in the line of duty in Florence on Wednesday, Serve & Connect, a nonprofit that raises money for families of fallen officers in South Carolina, is asking the community for donations.
The organization has launched two GoFundMe accounts to provide immediate aid to these officers and their families. One fundraiser is a memorial fund for Officer Terrence Caraway’s family, and the second will provide aid to the six injured officers and their families. 100% of funds will be donated to the officers and families.
Officer Carraway, a 30-year veteran of the force, was killed at the scene after officers tried to serve a search warrant. You can donate to his memorial fund by clicking here.
The Wounded Florence Officers fund, accessible here, will provide much needed aid towards the injured officers’ recovery.
Additionally, Serve & Connect is coordinating volunteers and other non-financial support such as donations of food and water. To participate, please email Serve & Connect’s Community Outreach Coordinator Macey Silano at Macey@serveandconnect.net.
The fundraisers were created with the support of the SC Law Enforcement Officers Association, the SC Police Chiefs Association, and SC Law Enforcement Assistance Program.
