Holy City CrossFit, located in the heart of downtown Charleston, is pleased to announce it is open for business at 80 1/2 Society Street. A grand opening celebration will take place Sunday, October 14th to coincide with Second Sunday on King.
Jessica and Brandan Scully, new owners of Holy City CrossFit have announced that the grand opening celebration will kick off at 10 am with a free in-store workout at lululemon located at 279 King Street. The celebration will continue at the gym from noon to 4 pm.
An additional free community workout will be held at the gym at 12:30 pm. The workout is suitable for all fitness levels, ages, shapes, and sizes.
The open house will include giveaways from The New Primal, Verde, In The Box Physical Therapy, Ensemble Consignments, and more. Two free On Ramp sessions at Holy City CrossFit will also be given out during the course of the day ($179 value each). The celebration continues all afternoon with fun-filled activities, vendor visits, giveaways, and refreshments.
Holy City CrossFit (formerly CrossFit Discovery Downtown) is a labor of love, being built by longtime members Jessica and Brandan Scully. The pair have a passion for creating healthy lifestyles and lifelong fitness for those who call Charleston home.
By definition, CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements push, pull, run, jump, sit, stand and include gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. And for those days when you need a little extra “oomph” for those movements, try a CrossFit pre-workout blend like one of these options to give your best effort during the workout.
“We believe that fitness should be functional,” owner Jessica Scully said. “We want every one of our members to be able to take on the challenges of life from hauling a suitcase through the airport to being able to run and play with our kids, grand kids and great grand kids. That’s our goal at Holy City CrossFit.”
Holy City CrossFit offers a free, no obligation intro for anyone who is interested in learning more, and a proven On Ramp program that helps new members learn the basics in a small group setting before jumping in. Both student and Hometown Heroes (military, first responders, & teachers) rates are available for those who qualify.
In addition to group CrossFit classes, Holy City offers yoga classes, an on-staff physical therapist, and personal training for those who prefer a one-on-one setting.
“Holy City CrossFit is more than just a gym,” Jessica said. “We’re a family. By providing a safe, fun and encouraging environment for our members, Holy City CrossFit is creating a supportive fitness community, all working together to change lives and having a great time doing it.”
