The Spot Light Awards to Recognize “Angels in the Community”
The Spot Light Awards 2018, a black tie dinner and red carpet affair, takes place on Saturday, November 17th at the Charleston Gaillard Center.
The event, sponsored by Fair Deal Grocery “The Spot 47,” will recognize and honor 18 individuals who were nominated by the community, and selected by the awards committee as “Angels in the Community.” Nine of those nominees will be chosen to receive a 2018 Spot Light Award. The 9 awards are named in honor of each one of the Emanuel 9 victims. Each winner will be chosen partially due to their leadership in the community, and partially due to a quality that they co-exhibit with the Emanuel victim their award is named for.
The event, hosted by ReZsaun Lewis and Alex Moor, promises to provide an exciting evening of celebration, music, and entertainment featuring performances by Atlanta’s Amayz, comedian Brian T. Shirley, poet Bria Davis, Charleston’s United Choir, DJ Shanard, and more.
Tickets are $50 and available for purchase at www.SpotLightAwards.info
